There is an earlir thread about gtapecalc where I mentioned XBC. I tried to install it along with several others. I have communicated with the developer and here is how I installed it. Download XBC 2.0 from http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/x-bc/x-bc2.0.tar.gz?download Download the .bc extensions from http://x-bc.sourceforge.net/download.html Install the gtkmm developement libraries from the Suse dvd or cdrom. There is another you need, but forgot what it is. When you do ./configure, it will tell you that is missing. Install that developement library from the Suse dvd or cdrom. After the ./ configure completes successfully, the su to root and do a make instead of make install. Create a .xbc directory in your home cirectory and copy the .bc extension files into it. Copy the xbc2.0/src/xbc executeable to a location of your choise. I put it in my home directory. Create a link to XBC on the desktop. Good Luck. Art
