I looked at the README in /pub/people/kraxel, which says to upgrade three base packages before installing the 2.6 kernel RPM. I see two of them in /pub/people/kraxel/9.0-i386/i586, but not aaa_base. Is that a temporary shortcoming, or is there somewhere else I could get it? -- ==================================================================== Glenn Holmer (Linux registered user #16682) ==================================================================== I think I am the product of three types of influences: the Vienna School for the language, Stravinsky and Bartok for the rhythmic impluse, and Debussy and Ravel for their preoccupation with sound. ==================================================================== -Pierre Boulez, 1998 ====================================================================

Warning, I don't have 9.0 (I have 8.2), but AFAIK the aaa_base in 9.0 is ready for 2.6. It needed replaced in 8.2 because of a newer mkinitrd script. In 8.2, this was actually split into 2 packages. I'm not sure what 3 packages you mention, but if it is modutils, mkinitrd, and aaa_base, I believe those are only needed for 8.2. I think all are 2.6 ready in 9.0. -- Joe Morris New Tribes Mission Email Address: Joe_Morris@ntm.org Web Address: http://www.mydestiny.net/~joe_morris Registered Linux user 231871 God said, I AM that I AM. ... yep. if using 9.0, just change "set installation source" in yast to point to "ftp://ftp.suse.com/pub/people/kraxel/9.0-i386/" and then run 'install and remove software' to let yast do it; you will see 'kraxel' in the list of avail packages -- << http://michaeljtobler.homelinux.com/ >> "Don't let your mouth write no check that your tail can't cash." -- Bo Diddley
