SuSE 9 Professional Installation Error
I have a boxed set of SuSE 9 Professional. Just tried to install it on a desktop here and libart_lgpl, cups-drivers, and openh323 all failed to load, despite repeated retries and running repair twice the problem is not corrected -- and when I attempt to run kde from the prompt it fails. Is it reasonable to presume that the cause must be a defective production CD? Thanks! doc -- Wars and rumors of wars, disasters, and social decay, yet undaunted for love and peace we pray.

I'd say so OM, you might download the packages from the SuSE ftp site, install them and see if it makes a difference. Any clues in /var/log/messages? Regards Sid. -- Sid Boyce .... Hamradio G3VBV and keen Flyer Linux Only Shop.

I will have to do that at the office since at 28k dialup here in the woods it would take forever! I do have a copy of SuSE 9 LiveEval on CD, I wonder if that would have the matching replacement files? doc -- Wars and rumors of wars, disasters, and social decay, yet undaunted for love and peace we pray.

That's possible, but downloading would be preferable, I'm not too familiar with just how much stuff is on the LiveEval, openh323 etc. Regards Sid. -- Sid Boyce .... Hamradio G3VBV and keen Flyer Linux Only Shop.

I have searched for this but no joy, anyone know where I might find a copy of libart-lgpl-2.3.14-21.i586.rpm while I await a reply from SuSE re. replacement of the defective CD 1? I can dowmload it at the Office tomorrow if it is too large for the 28k dialup here at home.
