[opensuse] Cant setup up repos
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hello all, and happy new year! I've been trying to setup kyum and I keep getting errors. I could be missing something but not sure what. The message is as follow: ftp://mirror.colorado.edu/pub/opensuse/distribution/10.2/repo/non-oss/suse/repodata/repomd.xml: [Errno -1] Error importing repomd.xml for opensuse-non-oss: *** Trying other mirror. *** Error: It isn't all that easy to find alt repo depsositories - the open suse site list them but many aren't up to date, such as the kernel.org site which only has 10.1. Also if some one could show me an example of how they set up the repo. The packman repo will update and show the proper files: Tag: packe Name: Packman for SUSE Extras $releasever - $basearch Base URL: "none listed" Repo-File: packman.repo (in /etc/yum.repo.d/packman.repo) Mirror-List: http://packman.links2linux.de/mirrorlists/suse TIA, Curtis - -- Spammers Beware: Trespassers will be shot, survivors will be shot again! -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.5 (GNU/Linux) iD8DBQFFl2Wz7CQBg4DqqCwRAmmJAJ94F+DIPWPola5MsuihsgIfKuIZTQCeJMcc Fk8wodo9jfG/FPZTbjaE+lU= =Sv98 -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

bye, Lee The problem is is that is exactly what I have! I'm also having a problem with my home folder in kde. Everytime I open it - it opens and then before it cats the whole directory (just when it's finished - it shuts down) I loaded "kfmclient Profile filemanagement" from the console but get no output. I have kdbg and DBG installed but it throw nada - so debug is a no go so far. I going to try to reboot and use the install disk to do a diagnostic/repair to see if that sovles/shows anything. I'm thinking something got kludged and my auth is messed up or something similar. I had AppArmor on and then turned it off and back on with no difference (not sure why AppArmor is installed/loaded in the first place).

I know that should be 'kfmclient openProfile filemanagement' instead of just 'Profile'... For what its worth. Stan -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Opps! typo in email post. It is and was indeed the above you posted, I just mistyped. Eitherway. I did a "mv .kde kde-bkup" and then transferred my files for such things as kmail/kontact, etc. When I updated to 10.2 (as well as other version) I have sequestered my /home/* and /usr/local directories on their own partition (so as not to format/overwrite those directories). Therefore, some of the config files that remain in the .kde directory are old and from previous kde version. Though many may get updated that's not always the case. I then updated some kde rpms and that's when my problems started. Now my mail and book marks are saved and my desktop is nice and crisp and snappy. Cheers, Curtis. - -- Spammers Beware: Trespassers will be shot, survivors will be shot again! -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.5 (GNU/Linux) iD8DBQFFmIwl7CQBg4DqqCwRArCSAJ9HnmNen7QyIZ+Q0+vO2MmzvGaa9QCgsjlo 1biKNmHlcZETS+feYfyqq0E= =2rRZ -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Ya, ya! (though I still can't figure out what fall down go boom!). Oh and as far as the fglrx drivers are concerned. I got them working. I used the "/usr/sbin/atigetsysteminfo.sh" command which put the output log file in my /root dir. It reported the fglrx_dri.so file was missing. The thing is that it was indeed installed but not in directory that it expected it to be in. I simply copied the file (fglrx_dri.so) into the directory it wanted to find it in and voila! (after restarting X that is). No problems so far. The XGL/AIGLX composite stuff doesn't work however - not that I'm all that broken up about it! Nice eye candy I guess, but oh well, no loss! Have a great New Year Fred (and the rest on the list as well) :D CHEERS!!! No.....I've run it but it uses too much CPU.
Have a great New Year Fred (and the rest on the list as well) :D
