[S.u.S.E. Linux] Athena Network Card
I lent a friend my Suse 5.0 cd's. He is having a problem getting the system to recognize his/the school's Allied Telesyn AT2000 network card. It is an NE2000-compatible card, which the Suse online support db says bad things about. But the card doesn't freeze the system, the system can't even get the network going. Also, there is no /dev/eth0. Any ideas, anyone?? - mikeh P.S. Make sure you compiled the kernel with NE2000 compatible network cards enabled and PCI if it is. If Linux doesn't see it, then you should say that the card is not compatible at all. Good luck Xanti Mike Hostetler wrote:

Is this PCI? This might be obvious but I forget about 300f each new system I work on... The PCI cards we use here at work will look for a link BEFORE initializing. I have to remember to have atleast a palm hub hooked to the card at boot time. On 26-Apr-98 Mike Hostetler wrote:
