[opensuse] Let fail2ban send info mail daily, not after every ban
Hello, I have on Leap 15.1 fail2ban 0.10.4-lp151.1.1 from main OSS repository. It works perfectly. I just in jail.local enabled banning of relevant services. Everything fine, except it sends mail after every ban action, but I'd prefer less longer mails, e.g. daily batches of all reports or something like that. I'm bit confused from discussion at https://github.com/fail2ban/fail2ban/issues/832 and https://github.com/fail2ban/fail2ban/pull/716 It seems that "maillatency = 30m 12h" should be available since 0.9.4. Or not? I have in my jail.local also bantime = 1w findtime = 10m maxretry = 5 maillatency = 30m 12h But it still sends mails after every ban action. More there is discussion https://github.com/fail2ban/fail2ban/pull/1460 about [DEFAULT] # enable for all jails: bantime.increment = true # default factor (correspond twice increase): bantime.factor = 1 # avoid endless growth of ban-time (max ban for 3 weeks): bantime.maxtime = 3w I'm confused here... What is the difference between approach with maillatency and increment+factor+maxtime? More over, the second option seems to be available in 0.11.1 which is available in security repo. So... does anyone have fail2ban 0.10.4 configured to send mail only once upon a time? If so, how? :-) Or do I have to update to 0.11.1?
