To All: I do not know how most of you feel, but, instead of worrying about SuSe desupporting any version of same, maybe it is time to "desupport" any new versions , to include 9.3, until they get ALL the bugs out and people have time TO MAKE FULL USE OF WHAT VERSION THEY HAVE!!!!! :-):-)
Some people can never make *any* release work. Others have no problem.
Perhaps there's something unique about your hardware or situation.
(from a user who has *never* had major problems with an SuSE release - - now on 9.3 on 5 machines)
Interesting remarks and comments have been made about 9.3, I personally believe most of these are as a result of Suse moving forward, Let me explain: Suse 9.2 - I checked the archives and to a degree the same sort of remarks and questions were posted as we are seeing now in 9.3. My personal opinion of Suse 9.3 is one in good faith, I have already tested it on close to 30 different systems, of which 20 of them are the lastest greatest in technology today (Video sound SATA SCSI etc..). The other 10 have been P3's with as little as 128 MB ram and a very mixed ranged of hardware. I have found no SATA or SCSI issues, as I did in 9.2. Our companies entire TV card range works out of box. Serial PCI cards for extra com ports and paralell ports working out of box, even the one with funny chipsets like netmos. Ati is a whizz to setup and 3D works, NVidia as well. The new onboard 7.1 sound cards are producing sound on all channels, (Honestly have not tested to see if 7.1 is actually working in 7.1 surround) But 4 and 5.1 surround is working perfectly on SB-Live Audigy, and C-Media sound cards, There have been no stability issues. After packman.links2linux my kaffien player is better than xmms ever was. All the issues I have encountered have been as a result of the default settings in various services and applications which had to be changed. All-in-all I believe we are moving forward with fire under our feet and Bill has something to contend with this time round.
