Precompiled kernel vs. source compile: same config?

A simple question about the SuSE kernels: if I compile the kernel from source, without going into "make xconig", do I get the same choices as the ones configured for the corresponding precompiled kernel? Paul

If you are currently running a SuSE and do 'make cloneconfig' first. That copies /proc/config.gz to /usr/src/linux/.config and does 'make oldconfig'. -- -ckm
