Hi everyone, I'm new to the list as I'm trying to install SuSE 8.2 and am having some issues. I'm trying to install SuSE 8.2 in VMWare 4. So I followed the instructions and installed using the text mode installer. However, I must have missed something because it didn't ask me whether I want to install the X server or not. VMware says to install text mode only so that you can put the tool on later and then use sax2. The install proceeded to the end in text mode only to see that at the first boot it started loading kde and after that I couldn't figure out how to install the vmtools and reconfigure the screen. Any ideas of what I'm missing? thanks a lot, eugene.

Go to vmware's site, they have very good info on installing the tools. Ken

sorry if i wasn't clear. the question isn't how to install the tool but how to prevent SuSE from installing the xserver!! thanks, james.
