I installed both gcc and egcs. Root's path is set to find gcc and my main user's path is set to find egcs. Then I login or su to the proper user to compile. For c++ programs, egcs works better. Are there any other Quake2 mod writers reading this? If so, how can you get egcs to make a mod for Quake2 that doesn't crash after loading a new map?
If I compile with gcc (2.7.x) then I get a working mod, if I switch to egcs it's back to seg faulting again. If anyone has solved this problem I'd love to know how since this means I have to uninstall egcs and install gccfront to compile Q2, then reverse the process to work in kdevelop which needs the egcs g++ commands.
