Indeed, it does! But there's no trace of it in the audit. I get an audit entry only for the chmod I use to set it back to 666. I thought this might be because the file gets deleted and recreated instead of chmod'ed. But auditctl -a exit,always -Sunlink -F inode=517712 don't show anything, also. Then I tried (umask 0022 ; zypper install -f aaa_base) and it still gets set to 600, so my umask setting seems not to be the cause. BTW: the inode does _not_ change, so the file is either not deleted at all or the inode is re-used. The latter I'd consider to be too big a coincidence..
