The 8029 and 8139 are two different cards. 8029 is only able to do 10 mbit/sec. 8139 also does 100 mbit/sec. For the 8029 you need to use the ne2kpci driver. For the 8139, 8139too.
i seem to recall from earlier discusions that many hubs will not run at dual speeds. they run at the speed of the slowest component. so, if one 10 mbit/sec nic is used the entire hub is slowed to that speed. switches, on the other hand, are capable of adjusting speed according to each device's characteristics. larry
