If no one has any more information about this, I will try submitting a bug report. Any objections/thoughts/recommendations?
To file bug report you don't need anyone's permission :-) As no one here has idea what went wrong, that is next step.
I know I don't need anyone's permission to file a bug report. :-) However, I also don't want to look like a complete @$$ when I do for failing to test something which would be obvious to the developers, so I was hoping maybe someone had some pointers that I might still try. Since that doesn't seem to be the case, I am going to file a bug report on this.
Though, somewhat different error mentioned in opensuse-kde mail list, would be cured by adding missing repository: http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/KDE:/Qt44/
Thanks for that, but I have added that repository now and it does not fix my problem, unfortunately. I had good hopes that it might, since my error is QT related, it seems.
In your case it seems that there is missing some package, but you never mentioned that zypper or YaST complained about. I got almost the same error using YaST to install and leaving out package strigi. It happened right after 10.3 release, strigi wasn't pulled in as dependency.
That's the problem...zypper/YaST does not complain about any missing packages. If it had, I think I would have been able to solve the problem somehow. Sadly, I have no leads as to what package is missing.
Can you restore ignored dependencies in YaST. It should be located in manus
I tried that as well...no such luck. :-( Thanks for your suggestions!
