I have a PDF document where some pages are portrait, and some are landscape. I printed using "document viewer" in XFCE, which is "evince" (3.26.0). It has printed all in portrait, resizing those page in landscape so that they fit, using only the top half of the page.
How can I print them so that it switches automatically to the proper portrait or landscape mode automatically? Another PDF viewer does it properly?
Just tried Foxit (proprietary), prints correctly.
Page orientation is part of the print-job that the application sends to the printer in whatever printer control language the printer uses, e.g. PCL5/PCL6, postscript, etc... If evince isn't printing pdfs in the correct orientation, it looks like it isn't sending a "per-page" orientation along with the print-job. -- David C. Rankin, J.D.,P.E.
