On many UNIX systems, you can enable filec, which fills in the remainder of a filename when you hit the escape key. This doesn't work with the default shell in SuSE. I know that I can use the "*" when enough characters have been entered that the file name is unambiguous, but this is more tedious.
Is there an equivalent command in linux for the bsh shell? Alan Riggin
The functions of command line and filename completion seem to be on by default within bash. It uses the <tab> key for completion as soon as sufficient unique characters are reached.Stu - To get out of this list, please send email to majordomo@suse.com with this text in its body: unsubscribe suse-linux-e
