Have you tried to configure card using sax2 -r -m 0=nvidia while it is used in http://en.opensuse.org/NVIDIA#The_hard_way it maybe necessary to reconfigure /etc/X11/xorg.conf for your card.
Last time I looked at the nvidia postinstall script was designed to change the driver name in /etc/X11/xorg.conf from nv to nvidia.
That leaves everything else in xorg.conf as it was before and possibly useless for a new card.

I have tried everything I can think of, installing via yast, downloading from nvidia and installing. Nothing seems to work, guess I will just give up and say Suse can't do it (at least for me).
