Hello List, Is it possible to recover a corrupted boot partition/sector. If so any links to detailed instruction or info would be much appreciated. I'm running SuSE 7.3/Kernel 2.4.10. I'd like to get the boot sector repaired without formating the drive. Currently the system is back up, booted from LiLO on a floppy.
Do you remember how you partitoned the disk? Start fdisk /dev/hda and re-enter the partiton's start and end-blocks. When you do get it going, do a fdisk -l /dev/hda >>mybackup.txt and save it away. -- $|=1;while(1){print pack("h*",'75861647f302d4560275f6272797f3');sleep(1); for(1..16){for(8,32,8,7){print chr($_);}select(undef,undef,undef,.05);}}
