Aha! But that is what happens to me, that the upgrade procedure does not catch and migrate things that worked before and don't now >:-P
I suspect what has happened is that the new release had over-written your carefully edited files rather than creating .rpmnew versions that 'suggest' a change and let you do a diff. -- How long did the whining go on when KDE2 went on KDE3?
