Hi all, Ive got a machine with a Diamond Fireport 40 SCSI card, Yamaha CDR400, Sony 4x and TEAC 32x CD ROM drives. Whilst I can mount the Sony drive fine, the Yamaha takes a bit of time to recognise the disk, and the TEAC refuses at all. Im going by the line in fstab of: /dev/scd1 /cdreader iso9660 ro,noauto, user 0 0 Obviously changing the directory and device name for each of the drives. When the TEAC drive is mounted, the disk spins up, but the light is on permanently, and the machine periodically checks out the other two CD ROM drives for some reason (any ideas?!?), but ultimately mount responds with an unable to mount message. When this drive was in a Win98 machine, it didn't work under DOS (did the same thing) but always worked fine in Win98 itself. I assume that this is more of a hardware problem, but is there anything I can do to make this drive work under SuSE 6.0. Im guessing that its because of drivers for the card under windows?!? but please correct me if Im wrong. Does anyone have any suggestions of what to try, cos Id rather be burning CD's under Linux than Windows.
