The problem: when the PCMCIA is inserted, wlan0 does not work. As soon as I eject the PCMCIA eth1, wlan0 works again.
My guess is, that the default gateway is a problem, surely I am missing an important point here, but I was not able to find a solution in Google.
Question: Can I configure the default gateway dynamically? E.g. if I connect to wlan0 all internet traffic is send to the DHCP given 192.168.123.X and I can keep my PCMCIA inserted, when I turn off wlan0 and connect a cable to the PCMCIA, all internet traffic is routed to eth1. Some kind of "dynamic default gateway"?
When you plug in the PCMCIA, does the WLAN connection drop or does only the default route change? In openSUSE, connecting to Ethernet changes the default route to the Ethernet connection, but WiFi is still operational. I expect similar is happening with that PCMCIA card. Are you using network manager? If so, it is possible to run a script on connection to change the default route or whatever else you want to do. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
