Hi all, I did find out the reason of the problem. I did install a minimum system at first. And after that i did use the lilo boot up disk of slackware. By doing this the system did boot up in the SCSI kernel 2.0.0 . This one is very stable. I did also install linux it did work perfectly. But after starting up via lilo the system did bootup under linux 2.0.32 . And the system did get in hang-up quit soon. Can someone help me how i can make a good kernel, that is stable and how i can put it on my boot disk? Thank you very much. Regards, Joop Boonen. JJM Boonen wrote:
Dear Madam, Sir,
I did have the following problem. During installation the system does get in a hang up a lot of times. During installation of the packages. When i partition the hard disks and than assign partitions and going to the end, ending yast the stem does get for sure in a hang up mode. Up till now i haven't been able to install the Suse linux. With slackware i
haven't had any problems.
Do i need to use parameters for my SCSI card? NCR 53C810 ?
Can you please help me and tell me what the reason of these problems are? After the installation didn't work i have installed slackware without any problem. :-(
Thank you very much.
