Hi Chris, I followed your direction and almost make it, BUT! The module refused to compile, complaining that it's designed for 2.4.0 and my is 2.4.0-4GB (what the hell is the -4GB doing here?). Is there anyway to remove the -4GB by other means? I am going to give it a last try, and if fail, I will reinstall with both 2.2.18 and 2.4.0(-4GB) kernel, maybe that is faster. :( Dennis/sg the
built-in Lucent win modem.
I tried the Lucent driver but it refused to work and complaint on Not working under Kernel 2.4?
See: http://walbran.org/sean/linux/stodolsk/ download the latest driver (ltmodem-5.78e.tar.gz) and compile it. There are some specific instuctions for compiling for 2.4 in there as well.
