Hi,
As ROOT run the following command in a terminal window: 3Ddiag, it will give you a similar output:
Ok, i did that and got 2 errors: - need 16bit colordepth (easy to fix, so no problem) - script switch2nvidia_glx not found, i'm sure i had that script before, but i must have messed the configuration in some way... Can you tell me in what rpm package is that script please? (In the improbable case you don't know how, you can use KPackage - file - find file) ty Ivan

Look for any errors and fix with SAX2 or any other tool you want to use. What I did notic is that in order for your machine to run in 3D Accelerated mode, your screen depth must be set to 16bit (NOT 24).
This machine is running SuSE 8.0 Professional, with a Riva TNT. I did a SuSE Online Update and installed the normal Nvidia Kernel Patches. I then ran 3Ddiag and fixed any errors I found. I did this same type of process with my other machine which runs a GeForce3 Titanium 500.
