RE: [SLE] KDE sound

I could just reinstall Suse but I would like to know what I did to create the problem. </snip> I actually do not know what hardware configuration that the hermes is using. I don't think a reinstall will help though, on my machine (sony laptop viao running 8.1) reinstall did not fix the issue I had with sound. I had to pass in pci=acpi at boot to fix it. I'm not sure if that will work for you or not. You might want to look in to the drivers, ALSA and OSS (free version and pay version). HTH! Daniel
