You have modules which are non-GPL (P), forced to load (F) and unsupported (U). At first glance in that list, the above were the most likely suspects. They are from the parallels virtual machine, I believe.
Try booting without it, and see if a) you get a system that isn't tainted, and b) if it still hangs without it
You, Sir, have a very keen eye. When Carlos mentioned a tainted kernel, I was thinking Parallels would be the only culprit, since this was originally a clean install of 9.3, with monthly YOU's, and no toying by me other than parallels and a couple of supporting libs for Cinelerra. I think I was at the previous kernel upgrade when I installed parallels...about 6 weeks ago. I will try your suggestion. I also have parallels in my laptop, and have not done the latest update yet. If I figure how to recover this, it would be a good confirmation of what happened...am I suggesting purposfully crashing my laptop? I can't believe I said that! ;-) Tom -- Check the headers for your unsubscription address For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the archives at http://lists.suse.com Please read the FAQs: suse-linux-e-faq@suse.com
