In yast1 you could choose install then select/input a directory path to the locally stored rpm to be installed. However, I can't find this option in yast2. I want to point it to the downloads directory where I have an .rpm file that I downloaded and check it off for install (or later uncheck it for uninstall). I have tried changing the 'source directory of installation', and by inputting the directory path in the 'online update' and 'patch cd update' but they all error out. (I tried dir:///downloads, dir://downloads, /downloads) I know how to install an rpm via the command line, but prefer to use yast2 like I used to do in yast1. Im using 8.1. Thanks jeric
