Nah, it was still set to daylight savings time. After reading Carlos's thesis on ntp, hwclock, etc., I've come to the conclusion that these people think setting the system clock to local time is a dumb idea and they don't want any part of it. ;-) e.g. I got what I deserved. I simply spent 15 seconds to change the hw clock manually and karma has been restored to my LAN.
