To check for that, just create a new user, and test with it.
I just uninstalled Teams on my ThinkPad and deleted the 2 folders in .config and the same problem remains. I am again asked to sign up for Teams, even though I have an account which works in Windows and on my Android tablet, as well as in the Edge browser. I'll have to use the browser for a meeting I have this morning, but I'll keep my ThinkPad booted into Windows, just in case.
