[SuSE Linux] Upgrade 5.3 to 6.0?

I installed 5.3 as a new user. Since then I have updated a number of packages/programs. For some I have installed new RPMs from the Suse ftp site, but most I have downloaded in source tar.gz form and installed them. Is this going to cause any problems if I then upgrade to Suse 6.0?
