ADSL modems - USB or ethernet ?

ADSL has finaly arrived in my area and I am thinking of using it. My question - what are the arguments for and against modems that connect via USB and Ethernet. About all I know is the Usb modem is the cheaper of the two. Also what brand names can you recommend for use with linux ? my local supplier wants AUS$100 to configer a windoze box no mention of linux at all. What's Suse like at installing this stuff ?
