Guys,
I need to find the following compiz/emerald rpms for 11.3 that I want to try in 11.4:
compiz-0.8.6-41.1.i586.rpm
<snip>
They are no longer in X11/XGL: where they were earlier. I see compiz 9.4 rpms in the Compiz repo, but I'm a bit wary of performance from 9.4 compared to 8.6. Does anybody know where I can find these?
OK looks like that will no longer work on 11.4. Is there a compiz repo for 11.4 yet?
Not yet AFAIK. Even when there is, however, you'll need to take into account that when the contents of X11/XGL: disappeared several months ago, then so did both fusion-icon and compiz-emerald. Cyberorg told me at the time that "they were no longer maintained" and would therefore no longer be available. In fact the latest version of emerald then available doesn't work with the compiz 0.9 series anyway. What it amounts to is that if you want to use compiz in 11.4 then it will need to be without emerald etc, leaving only kwin in the KDE context. And FWIW, in 11.4 I've found both the supplied compiz 0.9.2 and the factory version (0.9.4) to be disappointingly flakey. -- Robin Klitscher Wellington - "Harbour City" New Zealand -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
