I haven't installed any non-open-source Linux software on my sys. Just the default 9.3 CD install, some packman rpms, some ./configure-make-makeinstall stuff. That's it.

Shriramana, That's because you're probably using an Nvidia display. Nvidia uses proprietary routines apart from the kernel hence the kernel is 'tainted'. It isn't tainted in any real way. That's just open source gobbly gook for not being one hundred percent open source. A small price to pay for something that actually works well. ;> By the way, love your tag. Ken
