My local servers are in a different building/datacentre, so when I do an installation, I virtually always 1) install over nfs and 2) run YaST over ssh.
To do this, these are the kernel arguments:
boot: usessh=1 sshpassword=blah install=nfs://server/dir
That's all - boot the installation system, then go back to your desk, ssh -X to the new system, and run YaST from there.
can you elaborate a little, please? do you use this to install *on the data center server*? what system do you boot with the kernel arguments? you say "go back to your desk" does this mean you have physical access to the data center? in fact , I *have* a server on a remote data center with 10.2 and ability to start with a sort of recovery console (remotely), I wonder if I could install 10.3 (or more probably 11) on it. 10.2 image is given by the host thanks jdd -- Jean-Daniel Dodin Président du CULTe www.culte.org -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
