Hi, I've had an opensuse.org email alias for a few years now but I can't work out how to use it. I recently had an email to my main opensuse account email address stating that I've been inactive, I sent a test message to my @opensuse.org address and it didn't bounce so the address exists. I've searched through my profile and account settings but can't find anything.
Outgoing mail with your opensuse.org address - just add the address as an identity to your normal email account.
Incoming mail to your opensuse.org address is presuably already sent to your normal address.
Yes, but the hidden question was how to set this. opensuse.org mails are just aliases pointing to some other "normal" e-mail addresses.
That's correct.
But how to set the target? Why isn't it manageable in the connect or elsewhere on some easily reachable place?
I agree that would be nice. The opensuse.org aliasing scheme was probably set up in a hurry, perhaps not really well thought through. Still, most people don't change email addresses so often, certainly not judging by how few requests we see for admin@opensuse.
So far - as far as I know - one must send request to admin (at) opensuse.org to ask to set target e-mail for opensuse.org alias...
Yes, that is the current procedure - to my knowledge, the opensuse.org alias table on the main SUSE mailserver is just a flat file (well, hashed for postfix). There is talk about moving to a different setup (Heinlein?), but I am not familiar with the details nor the timeplan. -- Per Jessen, Zürich (-0.1°C) openSUSE mailing list admin -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
