Sorry, I cannot find the kernel source for 8.1, I've tried searching
I have not been able to find it in YaST. -----Original Message----- From: Curtis Rey [mailto:crrey@charter.net] Sent: Sunday, December 08, 2002 1:26 AM To: Paul Burke; suse-linux-e Subject: Re: [SLE] Kernel Source Look under the development and source section, the "z" stuff is complete source for all the packages. So, if you can't find it then look there. Open YaST2 then use the filter to pick "Package Groups". Then look under "Development" and then "Sources". The two packages you are probably looking for is "kernel-source" version 2.4.19.SuSE-49. The other package is "Linux" version 2.4.19-2 and is described as the Rest of the kernel source code", where as the prior source mentioned (2.4.19.SuSE-49) is described as "The sources of the SuSE kernel"/"Linux Kernel sources with many Improvements and Fixes" - this would most likely be the one with certain things specific to SuSE, like the "makecloneconfig" command that will allow to add things to the kernel and still keep the rest as it was installed otherwise (that's if I got that part right). Anyway they are there. Also if you have a pentium 3/4 or an Athlon then there also additional kernel/features, aka k_dflt, k_athlon, etc... which are specific to certain cpu archs and then other modules like km_bios, km_pcmi, etc. for other specific archs/setups. Remember that after you update the kernel rpm run "mk_initrd". HTH, Curtis. On Saturday 07 December 2002 23:39, Paul Burke wrote: the
