I hope you wont get angry about my kind of question, but I would like to know what you think about which distro would be better for users who are migrating from windows to Linux desktop, I mean, what distro between Ubuntu 6.06 and sled10 would be better for the ending user?
As long as you speak English, ask anything that pleases you. This question has been "through the ringer" so to speak, so you might want to access the archives for more details and many opinions. It depends on a great many things. I personally recommend both of them, and I use both of them. I prefer KDE (Suse) but I use Gnome also (Ubuntu). The edge (if any) that Suse has over Ubuntu at this point is yast (the graphical installer). New users to Linux (from windoze) will definitely appreciate the yast graphical installer included with Suse. Otherwise, it really just depends on how the user plans to make use of the system. However, at this point I *trust* the Ubuntu community with the ability to upgrade to a new level ;-p Sometimes corporations (um, like Novell) tend to be a little toooo puusshhhhhy when it comes to development deadlines... so, Ubuntu may have the edge there. -- Kind regards, M Harris <><
