Hi!
For some strange reason, smbmount always say 'invalid argument' when I specify something that would equal a valid mount-line, like:
smbmount //PETERPC/C /net/peterpc/c -n -I 123.123.123.124 -c MARTINPC
As root: Try smbmount //PETERPC/C /net/peterpc/c -I 123.123.123.124 and log onto the win95 machine as a linux user like peter. Make sure peter is a user defined in linux. When asked for a password, enters peter's linux password. You may have to also logon to the win95 machine as peter with his password to get write permissions, otherwise you get read-only. Also make sure /net/peterpc/c exists on your linux machine. Also make sure your names are matched up in win95 networking for identity, and make sure your smb.conf has the matching workgroup in it. And make sure win95 ethernet settings are correct and has 123.123.123.124 as its number. Finally make sure you have sharing enabled for C in win95. You probably just have a little mismatch in names. Play around, you'll find the right combination. zentara -- To get out of this list, please send email to majordomo@suse.com with this text in its body: unsubscribe suse-linux-e
