OH! Do you (or does anyone) know the converse, how to disable that God-forsaken trackpad and those extra buttons? I CAN'T STAND THE STUPID THING!!! The trackpoint is all I need :-)
100% Concur!!!! You can disable them in BIOS (at least, on all of the laptops that I've encountered). Alternately, you can disable it in KDE (settings->System Settings->Input Devices), probably in Gnome or whatever desktop you're using, as well, but I've no personal experience there.
