Since upgrading to KDE 3.3.2, I now see an applet in KDE control center under appearance and themes called GTK Styles and Fonts. There, I was able to set the default font for GTK apps. Everything looks good now.
I'm running SuSE Pro 9.1 upgraded to KDE 3.3.2 level "a", but I don't see that in my Control Center.
Do you know which package contributes that functionality?

The package that contains this functionality is gtk-qt-engine-0.6-2.guru.suse92.kde33
Thanks. The closest named package installed on my 9.1 upgraded to KDE 3.3.2 level "a" is gtk-qt-engine-0.3-44. Where did you get this package? From the Guru's RPM site (<http://linux01.gwdg.de/~pbleser/>)? I don't see it there, in either the SuSE 9.2 or the 9.1 section. It appears that package is not available for SuSE 9.1. The closest match in the 9.1 section is gtk-qt-engine-0.5-1suse91.i686.rpm. However, <http://rpm.pbone.net/> has a listing for this package: <http://rpm.pbone.net/index.php3/stat/4/idpl/1609431/com/gtk-qt-engine-0.6-2.guru.suse92.kde33.i686.rpm.html>. but the link it refers to cannot be retrieved. On a lark, I took the binary package download link from the above rpm.pbone.net listing page and substituted "91" for the "92" and successfully downloaded a package. It'a about 8KB bigger. But I'm not sure I want to mess with my GTK setup, right now. It took me a while to get it working right after that last major release of KDE packages...
