I still don't understand your usage of the term "too large" in the X contexts in which I've seen you use it. 1366x768 on a 15.6" screen is 100.4 DPI. That's very close to most software's assumption that DPI is 96. A physical 100.4 DPI under the nearly universal 96 DPI assumption produces objects slightly smaller than designers intention.
