All, Just got a new SuSE 7.1 linux box up and running that I plan on using as a firewall (to replace my current Linksys BEFSR41). I need more configurability than the Linksys provides! I just got the box up and running on SuSE 7.1, and took a good number of SuSE patches thru Yast. I am currently running the minimum install with packages added. My next step is to install iptables and recompile my kernel so I can use em! I checked, and it looks like 2.4.16 is the latest up on many of the mirror sites. Anyone have any suggestions on what kernel I should run? In a perfect world, 16 would be the answer (latest greatest), but that isn't always so! Any suggestions?
