Could you give me the way to enable the TV out ?
The amount of luck you're going to have is heavily dependant on what video card you have. I last attempted a MythTV box with an ATI 8500 and Suse 9.3. ATI's drivers are broken when it comes to TV out. The only way I could get the OS to display on the TV (using svideo/composite out) was to use the generic VESA driver. However, the VESA driver will not provide Video Overlay support. So you'll get the desktop, but just a blank box where the video should be.
From what I've read, Nvidia is the way to go for TV-out on Linux (and maybe 3d acceleration on linux in general.) However, I have not re-visited the project and things may have improved since then.
Best walkthrough I've found was at http://www.homerengineeringcorp.net/mythtv/myth.html I tried to document my experience (http://www.susewiki.org/index.php?title=MythTV) as there were a few changes I had to make but didn't ever finish the doc... >_< I wish you luck! -Garret
