Looks like you have the required kernel modules loaded, in any case. I'd say it's probably a KDE problem. 1. Try mounting a CD or DVD manually: from konsole or another terminal, do sudo mount /dev/cdrom /mnt and if that works, unmount it: sudo umount /mnt 2. If that works, remove KDE:KDE3 from your repo, switch to a different desktop, go to YaST/Software/Software Management, remove KDE Desktop and KDE Base, and then reinstall them.
