To my surprise, my favorite font (Arial, 12 point) was not in the font selection drop down box. I'm (almost) positive that I installed the Microsoft core fonts during the latest install.
If you installed Microsoft true type font by YAST sofware/ update manager they might have not been installed. I also tried to install them by yast software updater selecting msttfonts.sh patch/script but it did not work from YAST. Furthermore there was no any error message saying that the installation was unsucsessfull.
Download the script and run it in a console window as root yourself. That made the trick for me.

I use five easy steps.... -Download all TTF files from here (do this just once): http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=34153&package_id=56408&release_id=105355 -install them via wine (do this just once) wine filename.exe -install all the fonts via kde/desktop settings/administrative settings/fonts/root mode. The directory to install from (usually) is: yourhome/.wine/drive_c/windows/fonts -save the fonts folder from the previous step to a directory that you keep and use this for all future installations of these fonts IMMEDIATELY after each new Linux install. -forget about it. your additional bonus: Your fonts are also available for your wine/windows applications, should you use some of them. kind regards Eberhard -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
