I have a modem I'm trying to configure on my father's newly SuSE-fied PC. It is (alledgedly) a real PCI modem, but doesn't show up in YaST's modem configuration.
Try: hwinfo --modem hwinfo --pci For a "real" modem to be detected, the bios has to report it with a serial port attached, and it shows during the booting up sequence (first screen before lilo or grub). If it doesn't, it is a winmodem, and you need a driver. I Don't like winmodems, I throw them away as garbage: if you have one, somebody else will have to help you :-} -- Cheers, Carlos Robinson
