Let me ask it differently: Did anyone install SuSE-8.0 succesfully from harddisk? Op zondag 29 december 2002 12:40, schreef Richard Bos:
I just obtained a new system that I can use for experients, and as I have a copy of suse-8.0 laying around on my harddisk I decided to have that version installed on the new system.
So I did: - copy the suse-8.0 files from my "production" system to my new system (using knoppix to create the partition and for the ssh server). - dd'ed the bootdisk and modules1 images to 2 floppy disks. - inserted the the floppy disks into the new system - pointed yast to the partition that holds the copy of suse-8.o (/dev/hdb2) - configured the installation (language, timezone, partitions end such) - selected "continue" - yast creates the required partitions
but at this point I get the following error; could not mount the source medium, because it is already mounted.
it is indeed mounted on /var/adm/mount and /tmp/extras
Anyone know how to deal with this??
