I added the following repository
http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/KDE:/Release:/411/openSUSE_12.3/
and am seeing it in YaST, but I am not being offered lots of package updates via zypper or in Software Management. I raised the priority level for the new repository to no avail. What's the secret to triggering this update?
Updating to that repo from oss with zypper isn't easy. KDE keeps changing package names so that dependencies come and go between that repo and standard repos. What seems to work (not easily) for me is to make note of failed deps from dup -r, then abort and install/upgrade those packages separately, after which dup -r again to get most. Follow up by inventorying which rpm -q output shows old packages remaining, and install each of those by version instead of repo. By picking the right ones you can get various others via dep instead of having to do so many individually. The complication smacks of trying to use rpm directly instead of via sophisticated wrappers like urpmi, yum and zypper. -- "The wise are known for their understanding, and pleasant words are persuasive."
