Having some issues with burning CDs with my SUSE 9.0 install. I'm using the k3b (0.10-3) and tried cdbakeoven as well. Getting error messages like "unknown error" and "can't fixate disk". I've checked the md5 sum for the iso file and it's good, the CD-RW drive is recognized and I've tried burning as both a normal user and root (to see if it made a difference...it didn't :-( ) Had Mandrake 9.0 installed before this and had no problems with any of the GUI burners.
Maybe I could try burning from the iso from the command line. Either way, I'd like to get this sorted out and any help is appreciated.
Thanks.
Have you tried with the command line? I debugged all my setup with command line mode before using any GUIs. Actually, I wanted to make scripts to burn backups. I have found many Suse packages to be broken in the past. Usually with stuff that involves licensing issues, like java with Mozilla, WMV with mplayer, and the bytecode interpreter with freetype, etc. So that problem may not apply here, but... The point being, that often when I download the vanilla software from the original development sites and install it instead of Suse's stuff, I find things work fine. If you can't get command line burns to work, *then* try downloading cdrtools and compiling/installing it (I seem to recall being able to get a Suse binary for it, so didn't have to compile, but I have compiled it at times as well.)
