Hi people, I first want to say thanks for all the good information that comes out in this list. I replaced the linux source package (de-installed, reinstalled) with the lx-suse source package and reconfigured / recompiled my kernel to support an AWE 64 card. Post this, I managed to frag my boot floppy and since then, have not been able to create a boot floppy that will get me into my root system successfully. I have been getting in with the S.u.S.E. install disk and CD... I was always successful in the past week with a boot floppy created by YAST / sys admin / create boot disk ... However now with a disk created in the same way, I get into the boot start load of my root file system on /dev/sdb1 and all hardware is recognized and config'd as normal, then right after the nic is recognized I hang at: VFS mounted extfs2 ect. ect. ect. (or something like this) And that is all she wrote! I have to go back in with the install disk again.. I saw someone mentioned removing LINEAR from the LILO.CONF file with regard to another boot problem posted here. I will try that next when I leave here... Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.. Perry Moon Tampa, Florida - To get out of this list, please send email to majordomo@suse.com with this text in its body: unsubscribe suse-linux-e
