Hi folks
Do anyone in list have any idea how to do clone copy of a DVD in k3b - suse 9.2 prof. I am aware that we can do clone copy of a cd with k3b but i was unable to find any options for doing clone copy of a dvd. or can any one suggest me the software which can do clone copy of a dvd in linux.

It is impossible (for now) to clone video DVD. Use dvdbackup for this.
To copy a data DVD: Tools/DVD/Copy
I'm glad I didn't know it was impossible when I did it.
The video dvd wasn't a copyrighted movie, it was a dvd video of my son's wedding. Only 2 or 3 gig in size if I remember correctly.
Now on a normal, copyrighted movie, I expect I would have some problems, but to say you can't copy videos is not correct.
Using 9.2. In k3b > tools > dvd > copy dvd worked fine on it.

Yes, I admit that my verbage was not right. In my eyes video DVD is 7+ GB, encrypted :)
All else is data :)
I'll stand corrected, but there is nothing to *physically* prevent original DVD movie backups. No silly copy-protection schemes. CSS is something in the VOB files themselves isn't it? The only other obstacle, as you say, was the large size. I've got a dual-layer, so theoretically I should be able to make a perfect duplicate backup of my original LOTR discs. (I haven't tried this, as the drive isn't installed yet.) I'd like to know if anyone disagrees with me... -- Steve Boddy
